All available Ball & Sleeve bearing technologies and their derivatives use oil to stabilize their respective bearing during rotation. Oil, naturally, evaporates and deteriorates in quality over time in any mechanical design. All of them are therefore limited in their performance to the amount of oil they contain, and differ only by the method of storing and distributing the oil within the respective bearings to maximize their performance.
Enermax has overcome this “dead-end logic” by using magnets instead of oil to stabilize the bearing. Without the friction and traction of oil-based bearings, the magnetic fields allow for stabilization without deterioration of the bearing and lack the operating noise and the well-known noise increase over time of oil-based bearings. Additionally, the lack of oil allows higher ambient temperatures and longer life time.
